Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to everyday questions

What type of therapy is best for me?

Every person is a unique universe, so there is no “one size fits all” therapy. While in the field of psychology we have clear foundations that serve as guides, it is essential to identify and connect with the real needs of the patient. This includes understanding their personality, their way of learning, and the specific challenges they face. In our first session, we will work together to explore these particularities and find the therapeutic approach that best suits you, guaranteeing a process that is meaningful and effective.

How long does it take to see results in therapy?

The simple act of deciding to go to therapy is already a significant step towards change. This decision shows that you have recognized something in your life that you wish to transform, which puts you in a place of greater awareness and willingness. The process of improvement, however, requires patience and commitment. If we have spent years with certain thought patterns, habits or beliefs, it would be unrealistic to expect them to change overnight.

I always tell my clients that self-discovery is a journey that can be confronting, but also deeply transformative. As you delve into yourself from an honest place, you may encounter moments where you doubt yourself or feel tempted to stop. However, with consistency, internal changes will begin to be reflected in your environment and the way you interact with the world.

The key is consistency: what you work on in therapy must be integrated into your daily life. The time needed varies for each person, but every little bit of progress counts and brings you closer to a more conscious and aligned version of yourself.

How do I know if I need to go to therapy?

There are many reasons to seek psychological support, and each person has his or her own reason. You may consider going to therapy if you experience any of the following situations:

  • You frequently feel overwhelmed, anxious, or sad.

  • You are facing major changes in your life (such as a loss, breakup, new job, or move) and you are finding it difficult to adapt.

  • You have problems in your personal relationships and find it difficult to communicate or set boundaries.

  • You feel like you are stuck or not making progress toward your personal or professional goals.

  • You are dealing with thoughts or emotions that are difficult for you to understand or manage.

However, going to therapy is not only valuable in times of difficulty. Beyond waiting for problems to happen, therapy is a powerful tool to become a better version of yourself. It can help you get to know yourself more deeply, establish healthy habits, define your goals, and live more consciously and in alignment with your values. If something is bothering you or you simply want to grow as a person, that is a good time to seek therapy.
